Today Seth had his 9 month check up! The best part about the checkup is that the only shot he had was the iron test. Of course, the iron test came back low and he's on iron drops now. But that's ok, because these drops don't stain your teeth. He also needs more baby cereal. He is 17 pounds, which is only the 5th percentile. But he is also 28 inches long, which is the 40th percentile. So at least he's growing longer, if nothing else. The worst part about the appointment was finding out why he wouldn't sleep at night. He has a double ear infection, and has had one since his cold went away, like 2 weeks ago! Thank goodness for bubblegum amoxicillan.

Cat vs. Car
On Sunday afternoon, we came home from church and called our cat to come in the house before it started to get dark. We called for a while before I heard her and I went to go find her. She was in the backyard, just sitting there. I thought it was odd that she hadn't just jumped the fence to get to the front door. Later on that night I realized that she was limping around. Over the next couple days, she refused to put any weight on it, and it was getting really swollen. I gave in and took her to the vet. (Those of you with pets know what a painful process this can be because vets so take advantage of the fact that pets don't have insurance and you really love your pet.) 3 tranquilizers, 1 xray and 400 dollars later, we found out that Max had dislocated her hind leg. This injury, along with all her claws being ground down, suggested that she had been hit by a car. So now she's walking around in a splint for a month. She's turned out to be more expensive than all of my kids combined.

Growing Up
Seth has grown up so much these last few weeks. He's crawling after everything, picking the most miniscule things up off the floor, and starting to pull himself up on things. It's a good thing he also learned to say mama or I might cry!

Park Day
Martin Luther King Jr. day turned into park day. Since Emma is never home when we go to the park, I decided that we should go. While Grace was on other parts of the playground, Emma stayed on that tire swing the entire hour and a half we were there.

What the heck is that?
Can anyone tell me what is on Beyonce's hand? It feels like diva Michael Jackson has arrived. Or Darth Vadar.

Blog Comments
I was recently made aware that my blog wasn't allowing comments to be made. So I changed a few settings. Hopefully this made a difference! If I don't hear from anyone, then I'll assume it didn't and try again.

The Great Park Adventure!
My brother Chris and his wife Michelle came to visit this week from Utah and they brought their twin almost 8 month boys! Our house has been chaos because we've all been trying to get over there as much as possible. So yesterday, Chris and Michelle took some much needed time off (lucky) and went to visit her sister in Sacramento. We got to take Owen and Ben to the park!!! Here's our fun day!

Jon and I were watching the Dark Knight out in his "lair" (the garage) on Thursday. We had a fun time, other than the fact that it's freezing out there. I came in about 11:30 and was getting ready for bed, so I checked the kids, made sure no one had died or froze. I checked Emma, I checked Seth, and by the time I got to Grace I burst out laughing.

Alana Cherie Johnson
I have my first neice! She was born on Sunday December 28, 2008 and just went home on January 3.
She spent 5 days in the NICU, but everything is great now and her and mommy are both safe at home!

New Year, New Weight?
I'll tell you this now: I'm a boring blogger. Most of the time I can't figure out what to say and when something exciting does happen, I forget to write about it. But I'll try! My biggest New Years Resolution happens to coincide with 10 million other peoples: lose that weight! I have a good excuse to have the weight in the first place: Seth. But I have no excuse not to lose it. So I've been trying to come up with ways to get away from the food. Blogging is supposed to be one of them. We'll have to see how that goes...
